On 1 April 2010 there will be changes in the process for returning company lease cars as a result of the new legislation on proportional registration tax. Given that in future Nordania Leasing will mainly conclude leasing agreements with proportional registration tax, the change in the legislation necessitates a clarification of the terms for returning lease cars, whether the agreement was entered into with or without proportional registration tax. Read more below.
When the agreement on your company lease car expires, the car must be returned to Nordania, and you should be aware of the guidelines on returning cars.
It could be beneficial for you to return the car yourself and attend the registration process. Use the booking system at Bilsalg.dk to book a time for returning the car.
Would you like your car to be collected? If so, you have the option to order and pay for collection. You should be aware that the car is only considered to have been returned once it has been received at one of Nordania’s collection points (see tab below).
On return, your car will be inspected by Nordania’s partner at the return point using a standardised method. This means that your car will undergo an objective registration process with photographic documentation of any damage, faults and deficiencies.
Remember to clean the car – both outside and inside – to avoid having to pay a fee.
If the inspection identifies deficiencies or damage, Nordania will bill the deficiencies at the current rate and the damage calculated using the Autotaks calculation system.
If damage has already been reported to an insurance company, this should be documented by a copy of the damage report.
New terms for returning company cars as of 1 April 2010
On 1 April 2010 there will be a tightening of the rules on when and where a lease car should be returned. From that date a car must be returned on the date that the leasing agreement expires. If the car is not returned on time at the correct place, Nordania is entitled to charge a proportional leasing fee comprising a minimum of one month’s leasing fee plus any other costs associated with the late return of the car.
Furthermore, in future all accessories (e.g. winter tires), fuel cards, and any registration certificate and damage report must be returned with the car.
